She developed her Hadestown album into a musical, debuting in the US at the New York Theater Conference in the summer of 2016, and debuting in Canada at the Castle Theater in Edmonton the following year. The show premiered at the London National Theater in November 2018 and then premiered on Broadway on April 17, 2019 at the Walter Kerr Theater.
